Verdant [NL]

Verdant is a puzzle game for 1-5 players ages 10 and up, designed by Molly Johnson, Robert Melvin, Aaron Mesburne, Kevin Russ and Shawn Stankewitch. It is the successor to Calico and Cascadia. After creating a quilt and a habitat that is perfectly balanced, it is now time to green your home with the most beautiful houseplants.

Gather furniture, pets and especially lots of plants to make your home all green. The most important thing is to take good care of your plants. Each round, in turn and clockwise, take a plant card or room card and an object or care token from the market and add them to your personal playing area. During the game, you add items to your house and try to complete as many plants as possible by caring for them properly.
 
On your turn, take a card and a token from one column of your choice from the market and place them in your personal playing area. Each player builds their personal playing area in a checkerboard pattern (of 5 cards wide and 3 cards long). All cards you place in your personal playing area must be placed adjacent to already placed cards. Try to meet the light preferences of the plant to complete the plant. You complete plants by making them greener and finally placing a flower pot token on them. At the end of each turn, the market is replenished and a thumb token is placed in the same column on the card not chosen.
 
The end of the game is triggered when each player has made a pattern of 5x3 cards in their personal playing area. In a game, each player takes their turn exactly 13 times. This is followed by the scoring process. The player with the most points wins the game!
